Banana Bend Beach

This spot is located off of I-10 in Highlands, Texas.  From Houston you would take I-10 East to the Crosby-Lynchburg Exit 787 and head North.  This exit is probably around 15 miles East of Houston on I-10.  You will be traveling North on Crosby-Lynchburg.  Go about 4 1/2 miles and take a left on the street by Grioso Motors.  I think this is the name, but it is a used car lot and there is a mini-storage behind it.  You should also see the sign for Banana Bend.  This is a great launch spot for a change of scenery  The ramp is built well and any type of vehicle should be able to launch from it.

I only noticed one ramp at this launch.  There is also a kids playground and a full concession stand with beer, burgers, and other things.  I guess a main attraction of this place would be the sandy beach.  It is a pretty good size and could easily fit a couple of hundred people.  I hear it gets really crowded at times.  Sorry, but I didn't get any pics of the beach.  I will only go there for jet skiing so I didn't think about it.  All in all, I will ride there again to explore the narrow and wide channels further.  You can look at the Banana Bend website for a pic of the beach.

Admission is $5/adult and is cheaper for kids depending on their age.  Concessions are cheap.  Burgers are around $4 and beer is $1.50.
