Impeller Installation

This installation is to be performed at your own risk!!!!

Here is a basic list of tools you will need:

Excellent mod for improving top end speed and holeshot.  Besides ride plate, pump plugs and intake grate, getting a 13/19 prop is one of the first mods you should do.  You will need a steeper prop for a Stage II or above ski.

First you need to remove the jet pump.

1.)  Place driveshaft impeller tool on the end of the driveshaft and place into a bench vise.

2.)  You may or may not have to heat up the nut on the OEM impeller but you might as well go and do it.  Shown below is the type of torch I use.   After heating up the nut place the big crescent wrench on the nut and loosen the impeller.  Remember that the threads are reversed so you will turn clockwise.  You may even have to stand on the wrench for leverage or use a long breaker bar.

3.)  Remove the impeller by spinning clockwise.

4.)  Place a generous amount of ant-seize on the impeller threads and screw on new impeller.  If you are installing a Solas use the impeller tool to get it "snug" and don't forget about the billet collar on afterwards.  Re-install the jet pump assembly.  The two pics below are of the stock impeller and a Solas Concord 13/19 impeller.
