Cartek line lock
All of these installations are to be performed at your own risk!!!!
Step 4 (Removal of Center Console):
You don't have to do this step unless you want to mount the switch like I did. If you are putting your switch into a different location skip to Step 5. First, open up the console door and insert a small flatblade screwdriver into the recess of the factory control switch and gently pry it up pulling it up and out. Be careful, there will be some plugs you need to disconnect.
Now remove the plastic lids at the rear of the console to gain access to the 10mm retaining nuts. Remove the nuts in the front and the back and lift up the rear of the console and pull backwards to get out.
Pry up the shift pattern with a small screwdriver very carefully. Now, using a pair of Vice Grips, grip the retaining pin tightly and pull the retainer up and out of the knob. You may have to rock the Vice Grips back and forth a little to get it all the way out. Just be careful not to damage anything else. Once the pin is out you can unscrew the knob off of the shifter handle. Go ahead and remove it.
Place the shifter in neutral and grasp the sides of the boot at the base and gently press inward toward the shifter to release the boot. Try not to break any of the plastic tabs. Once the clips are disengaged lift the boot up and out of the way.
Open the cigarette lighter door and remove the ashtray. Use the T15 Torx screwdriver to remove the screws adjacent to the cigarette lighter and behind the ashtray. I forgot to take a picture of the one behind the ashtray so don't forget this one. Carefully pull out the vented insert in the dash next to the ignition switch and remove the remaining Torx head screw.
Place the shifter into second gear and with the parking brake applied grasp the instrument panel trim plate near the curve at the base and pull rearward to release the locking tabs. Lift the rear of the trim plate for clearance. Disconnect the cigarette lighter plug and lift the trim plate up and out of the way.
